Sacrée répétition
Maria Palatine
Sacrée répétition
A 70-minute interdisciplinary show that flashes across a landscape of great emotion, humor and lightness. A showcase for transmission, daily work and our connection to nature. An ode to the cycle of life.
”Sacrée répétition”, a skin-deep hybrid show, won over the audience with its musical beauty, captivating songs, and this harp that becomes much more than an instrument: a true partner in life and dance.” Center Culturel La Posterie
“Belle Sacrée Répétition, the very touching evocation of a mother who trickles down to all women.” Luc Templier
“In confidence with her harp, which is part of herself like a vine on her hillside, Maria Palatine deploys her talents as an artist to paint, sing, dance, tell and celebrate the discreet guardians of the repetitive days and seasons. Behind this tribute, the absence and presence of a mother, the memory of a thousand other mothers, of a thousand other women officiating
the sacred liturgy of life.” Bernard Tirtiaux

Interview
As a prelude, the stage - with vines as the only backdrop - is infused with icy light and spacey sounds, we're in the heart of winter.
Then it's time to cross the seasons of life of one of these women who exist in the shadows, navigating between solitude, joie de vivre, exaltation and introspection.
Dancing for courage, singing to transcend work, seeking answers in wine or poetry.
The question of freedom arises in a world where almost everything is predictable and repetitive: every work gesture, every task, every season of the year, every phase of life, from birth to death. Isn't freedom just an illusion, or reserved for certain people? Or is it not in the air that fills every stitch of the fabric of our existence?
The songs, accompanied by the harp, take us into other dimensions of time. The harp in this show is more than a musical instrument; it is a partner in life and dance, and its sounds are explored to the limit of the noisy, exhilarating and percussive.
A hybrid, skin-deep show set to a soundtrack of classical, electronic and ethnic inspirations.
